The Faraway Tree series. It’s super wonderful 1930s silly and magical. We also LOVED the Adventures of TumTum and Nutmeg, wish there were one million of those.

Oh, also: these are more in the easy reader category, but all the Cynthia Rylant series are so sweet and funny: Henry and Mudge, Annie and Snowball, and Mr. Putter and Tabby.

The How To Train Your Dragon by Cressida Cowell is great, and David Tennant reading the audiobooks is hysterical.

Dr Dolittle - There are many but I was obsessed with The Voyage of Dr Dolittle as a kid. And the old film (though I admit I do not know if that held up with time). Also Half Magic, The Borrowers, the Magic Treehouse series, Choose your own Adventure books, Mr Poppers Penguins, Encyclopedia Brown, Mouse and the Motorcycle, Wayside School, Tales of Winnie the Pooh, all EB White, Wind in the Willows, and Oz series. Okay...I love to read ha. And as a side note, thank you for the Octonauts recommendation. My 4 year old is obsessed and I'm grateful for the relief from plotless stories and flashing lights.

How about Doctor Dolittle? The Brambly Hedge books? My niece and I enjoyed listening to the Viva Durant audiobook on Audible too.

Have you read the Wild Robot books? I think there are at least two. They are a big hit with my nephews.
