Bonus Recs #2: Kids Clothing Edition
Korean boutiques, resale lifestyle, and pattern all over
Unexpectedly, the #1 question I get about parenting is where I get clothes for my kids. I spend very little time considering my own attire and find far more pleasure sourcing theirs. I say sourcing rather than buying, because with kids there are so many ways to mix hand-me-downs and second-hand with anything you’re getting new. So, consider this some general operating instructions on patterns, prints and colors, buying off-season, where to go for secondhand gems and why Korean kids’ clothes are the best. Also, go-tos for basics and a few favorite accessories.
First things first!
I think it’s 100% acceptable to give absolutely zero shits about what your children wear! Getting them dressed, out the door and on time is challenge enough.
Some kids wear clothes extremely “hard” and if you have one of these children, you know what I mean. Some also have a lot of sensory challenges, whether it’s tightness, looseness, fabric type, etc. My kids are not these kids. Different kids, different challenges.
I influence what’s in my kids’ dresser and that it is the right size, but the kids dress themselves on the daily and pick something climate appropriate. There is no parent commentary on attire.
